A/C Repair

5/5

Have heard good references for this shop for years and finally dropped my car with them for an A/C repair. Received a better quote from Import Authority than other mechanics for a more in-depth repair. Courteous and quick service and most importantly, it was obvious they knew the best way to make my repair without trying to tack on more than necessary on my A/C. Other shops gave me a boilerplate price from their computer without really listening to the issue, while Clint listened and suggested what was the practical fix. Thanks!

Brakes Replacement

5/5

I have a 1993 Lexus ES300, a senior citizen. I have had all repair work done at Import Authority, and they have always done an exemplary job. But I have a larger point to make that occurred to me after my last visit which included brakes. And this says it all. When you have major work done on your car, you are not just getting your car repaired by experienced and talented people, you are literally putting your life in their hands. I'm not advertising an insurance company, but that company's selling point sums up Import Authority: "Are you in good hands?" When I leave the Import Authority parking lot I am fully confident that my car and I have been in good hands and that we are safe.

General Automotive Maintenance

Preventative maintenance keeps your vehicle running efficiently. You should change your oil and oil filter every five months or 5,000 miles. This helps prevent engine damage and keeps your engine running smoothly. Our affordable auto tune up service and oil changes are done by professionals that understand the importance of precise, quality auto maintenance.

Oil Changes

One of the simplest, most effective and inexpensive ways to help protect the life of your car, especially its engine, is to change the oil and the oil filter regularly. Oil is the lifeblood of your engine. It reduces friction, lessens wear, provides lubrication, forms a seal between the pistons, rings and cylinder walls while helping to cool engine parts. Without the cleaning action of new oil, carbon and varnish buildup would be toxic to the engine. And engine oil even dampens the shock and noise of moving parts.

Oil Filters

Oil filters are designed to trap foreign particles suspended in the oil and prevent them from getting to the engine bearings and other parts.

Fluids

Your vehicle relies on a variety of fluids to operate its brake, steering, transmission, engine cooling and other systems. When these fluids become degraded or are at incorrect levels, damage to other components may occur…so always follow the manufacturer-recommended service schedule.

Automatic Transmission Fluid

This is typically an oil-based fluid used in a transmission that lubricates and cools the transmission and provides hydraulic pressure to shift gears automatically.

Brake Fluid

This is the hydraulic fluid used to transmit pressure through the brake lines in a brake system providing stopping power and protecting hydraulic brake components from internal corrosion.

Coolant/Antifreeze

This is the mixture of water and antifreeze used in an engine cooling system to dissipate heat and maintain the engine’s temperature throughout its operating range.

Starting & Charging

The battery starts your car, powers on-board computers and supplies emergency power needs. A weakened battery causes stress on alternators and starters, especially during extreme temperatures. Let Midas test and inspect your battery regularly.

Air Filters

Clean air filters can increase engine performance, boost fuel mileage and reduce engine wear. Cabin air filters can minimize airborne contaminants in the passenger compartment and improve heating/cooling efficiency.
