"I had a nasty grinding noise at certain speeds in my car, and I had initially taken it elsewhere. The original shop made me chase them down to get the quote for my car and eventually quoted me $2000 despite not being able to tell me any details beyond a laundry list of parts needing replaced.
I did some internet research and Import Authority was one of the recommendations. Seeing that they're super close by and not a chain, I called and asked if I could get a second opinion. They said yes and that they might have time to check that day, so I dropped off the car.
I got a call two hours later with a full breakdown of everything that could be making a mysterious noise at the front of my car as well as what was most likely causing my problem and a recommendation for some other things that could be fixed based on how long I want to keep my old car. Despite the car having a few things that could stand to be fixed, I never felt like I was being upsold or lied to.
Anyway, this place is super friendly, knowledgeable, and they saved me $1500 in unnecessary repairs. And the vibes inside are great, and my car sounds normal now!"

I got the truck towed 100 miles to Import Authority, within a day they found the problem, a safety neutral switch. They repaired it and the truck is still running today. "Our daughter lives 5 hours away and drives our 2020 Honda HRV. The car wouldn't start, so she took it to another shop where they told her both battery and alternator would need to be replaced for $1500. Other places also said the readings indicated a failing alternator. I told her to hold off on that so we could get some additional opinions. When we called Import Authority and spoke with Chip, he was very skeptical that this was the case based on the age and mileage of the car. He recommended getting the battery replaced first and then bringing it by for an inspection after that to make sure everything was ok. He called and told us that everything checked out and nothing else was wrong with the car. He only charged us $43. His advice saved us over $1000 and I cannot fully express how grateful I am to find an auto shop that is honest. This is exactly how a business gains and keeps loyal customers. "I have been going to Import Authority since about 2006. I continue to be impressed that the knowledge and skill of the company overall. They provide excellent service in general.
Recently I had a confounding problem of my a/c not working . My car is a 2003 Avalon that I am trying to keep for life. So I was quite concerned because normal fixes did not solve the problem of not blowing cold air. The failure was a component of the system that is not usually needed to be repaired. Because most folks replace their cars more often.
Understand, my 2003 Avalon has over 200,00 miles on it and is 23 years old, it took even them a few attempts at repair before they figured it out. But they are an exceptional repair shop with a lot of really good mechanics. They solved a very difficult and rare problem involving the electrical system and the air conditioning."

I’ve got a 2007 Toyota 4Runner with an 187k miles and knew I was due for a timing belt and water pump and a bunch of other service items. Just before bringing it in for that, I had a bunch of warning lights go on on the dash. Clint kept me informed all along the way, including the discovery of critters that had chewed some of the wiring. They fixed everything, trucks running great and I’ve found my independent auto repair shop for my Toyotas going forward. Thanks guys."
"I have a 1993 Lexus ES 300. Import Authority has been caring for it from the beginning. They've kept it running for 30 years.
At one point I needed work done on the front end. A time later, the part failed. I had forgotten about that repair. IA told me it was still under warranty. They fixed the problem, no fuss. My battery recently died. I had forgotten when IA had installed it. Once again, IA told me about the warranty.
The car could use work now, simply as a matter of age. It's still safe to drive. IA advised me that it wasn't worth it.
I trust IA absolutely and attach no limitation to my endorsement of their work nor my recommendation that anyone w. an Asian car take it to IA for service. In a word - they're honest and straight shooters."
